Gear calculation and design

Using the most reliable software, we dimension your bevel, parallel or planetary gear train by adapting to your constraints (safety coefficient, cost of manufacturing the part in series, space constraints, imposed materials…).

Our design office will assist you in determining or validating the characteristics of your application, including

  • continuous and acceleration torques
  • speed
  • lubrication temperature
  • environmental conditions
  • application cycle
  • desired service life.

As many parameters influence the performance of your gear, it is often possible to strongly optimise the teeth (by intervening on their 3 dimensions) in order to guarantee the best meshing, the best efficiency, more torque, a better space requirement and/or a better life span.
We offer innovative solutions to reduce the size or cost of your sub-assembly. We have a database of hundreds of materials, treatments, coatings and lubricants to help you achieve your objectives while controlling your costs and risks. We provide you with details of the gear calculations, drawings of the gearing in 2D (pdf) and 3D (STEP or solidworks format) formats and can provide you with a gear prototype on request.

With 40 years of experience in the design of speed reducers (planetary or parallel trains), our R&D department capitalises on our know-how in gearing, machining and mechanical assembly to offer you a pragmatic, efficient product, without over-quality or approximation.

Mechanical design and assembly

Our design office uses the most advanced calculation and design software to develop planetary or parallel gear systems, straight or angled for your special applications (defence, nuclear, transport, etc.).

We can deliver a prototype or 3D/2D drawings for execution.

Our specialised engineers will have the solution that meets your requirements (temperature, service life, etc.) thanks to a range of hundreds of materials, treatments, lubricants, bearings and seals, guaranteeing you a gearbox optimised for your application.

Test procedures

Whether the gearbox is of your design or ours, we can write the test procedures that correspond to your application, build the test bench and validate the product in conditions that recreate your environment and according to the most common environmental test standards (stiffness, backlash, vibration, shock, salt spray, efficiency, noise, etc).

Our quality department will quickly adapt to your ISP procedures thanks to our long experience in defence.

Failure analysis

Solve your mechanical problem at the source

Low efficiency? Premature wear? Unexplained breakage or the need to optimise your specifications?

Our R&D department analyses the cause of the failure of your gears using the most advanced technologies (X-ray inspection, scanning electron microscopy, etc.) and provides you with a precise and documented diagnosis.

Once the source of the problem has been identified, our engineers will recommend an improvement, for example a more/less viscous lubrication, a harder/less hard material, a more suitable treatment/coating or a modification of the gear geometry.

We will calculate the life of the part you provide and that of our recommendation, provide you with the 3D tolerance drawing and can produce a prototype to demonstrate the solution to your problem.
